Call for Entries: Historical Beer Festival, Italy

Historical beer Festival 2025 italy

Brewers and fermenters working with traditional methods and heritage styles are invited to take part in one of Europe’s most unique beer festivals.

The Historical Beer Festival returns to Trebaseleghe, Italy from 19 to 21 September 2025, and the organisers are now accepting expressions of interest from producers around the world.

Now in its fourth year, the event brings together brewers and fermenters who are reimagining or reviving historic beverages—using traditional styles, ingredients, and techniques from their regions.

Held at Al Cantoniere, a family-run pub and pizzeria with a strong reputation for curating quality beer events, the festival is a true celebration of fermentation history.

Each year, the team welcomes both familiar names and new voices from the global brewing and fermentation scene. The result is a cross-cultural showcase of beers and drinks that push beyond the typical festival format.

What to Expect

The 2024 edition welcomed around 2,500 attendees across three days, with 40 producers serving more than 140 different fermented beverages—from kegged beer to traditional bottled ferments.

Previous editions have featured a diverse and fascinating lineup, including makgeolli from Korea, umqombothi from South Africa, keptinis from Lithuania, and sahti from Finland.

This year, the organisers are once again inviting brewers, cider makers, and fermenters from all corners of the world (including Asia) to take part and share their own stories through their drinks.

Who Should Join?

This is a rare opportunity for producers working with historical beer styles, traditional fermentation techniques, or culturally specific drinks to present their work to a curious, engaged audience in Europe.

The organisers are particularly interested in those reviving lost traditions or creating modern interpretations of regional ferments.

If your brewery or project has a story rooted in history, this is a festival that will give it the stage it deserves.
